Question:
What is the average time the Tanner Stages last? I’m in stage 2.8, and I want to know the approximate time it will take for me to start my period. I know the times you give won’t be exact, but I’d like to know about how long.
Answer
For women, each full stage (from 2 through 4) lasts roughly 18 months on average. Since you didn’t start your period in stage 2, which some girls do, yours will probably start by stage 4 — in about two to three years.
