Question:
I am dating a guy who is not a virgin. He has engaged in pre-marital sex, but he has repented and turned his life around. Is it wrong for me to marry him if it came to that eventually? I never believed it to be wrong, but some like to use I Corinthians 6:15-17 to say it is. Please help me know the answer.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
If we take your friends’ viewpoint, then none of them should get married because all of them have sinned in their past. What they are denying is that a person can change. After listing out several sins, including sexual sins, in I Corinthians 6:9-10, Paul said,”Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God” (I Corinthians 6:11).
Besides, I Corinthians 6:15-7:1 is dealing with relationships where a non-Christian has power over a Christian. He is not talking about marriage, which is a covenant between equals. He is talking about not getting into a business partnership where the non-Christian can make it hard to serve Christ, or choosing to become a servant of a man who is not a Christian.
