Could I be pregnant from having oral sex with my boyfriend?

Question:

I had oral sex with my boyfriend. We both gave it to the other. I am a few days late from my period and my boyfriend thinks I could be pregnant. Could this be true?

Answer:

Oral sex does not prevent the spread of disease, nor can there be a 100% guarantee that pregnancy will not occur. The problem is that the semen boys ejaculate during sex contains millions of sperm. Even the fluid that they produce before ejaculation, sometimes called pre-cum in slang, can contain sperm — though not nearly as many. People fooling around with sexual acts are not careful, so there are numerous ways some of these fluids can get close to or even in the vagina. Sperm don’t care how they get there, they are like small robots programmed for one thing: to swim toward the nearest egg, which they can locate by chemical tracers.

Since you cannot absolutely guarantee that none of his fluids reached your vagina, I can’t absolutely state that you are not pregnant. However, being a few days late is not enough to tell. Periods can vary their start time by up to a week.

What you should be more concerned about is a sexually transmitted disease. These are easily passed from person to person. It is highly likely neither one of you have limited yourself to one partner, so the odds of spreading disease is very high.

But the most serious thing you should be concerned about is the damage you have done to your soul. You have been involved in fornication. “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God” (I Corinthians 6:9-10). Oral sex is still sex and the two of you are not married, so you are committing fornication. “Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge” (Hebrews 13:4). I would rather see you go to heaven than to continue as you have been and mess up both your physical and spiritual life.
