Question:

I’m really worried. A while back I and my boyfriend got erotic and he rubbed his penis against my vagina for a minute or two. I had my period a few days and the next month I also had my period at the regular time, but after that, I haven’t had them. Am I pregnant?

Please answer.

Answer:

I cannot figure out why a person who is afraid of becoming pregnant is engaging in sexual activities. I can almost understand why you are ignoring God’s teachings; after all, many people in the world are not committed Christians. Perhaps you haven’t heard the teaching, “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God” (I Thessalonians 4:3-5). But even if you don’t accept the sensible words of God, it would make sense that if you don’t want a pregnancy, then you would not engage in activities that lead toward pregnancy.

If you had your period since you sinned with your boyfriend, then it means you did not get pregnant. Sperm only survives in a woman’s body for up to six days and the sperm must join with a woman’s egg on the day she ovulates in order for pregnancy to occur. You cannot get become pregnant two months after the fact.

Of course, the best thing that you can do is get your life right with God and stop your sinning. Sex belongs in marriage. “Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge” (Hebrews 13:4).

Missing a period is not a major issue useless you go three months in a row without your period. In such cases, you need to see your doctor in order to figure out why your periods have stopped.
