Question:

I found two bumps on my outer vagina near the top. It stings a little bit, but today I squeezed them and yellow pus and a little bit of blood came out. What can it be and what can I do? I am really scared and confused.

Please help me?

Answer:

The outer area is called the vulva. The inner area — the part you cannot see — is called the vagina. It sounds to me that you got an infection, most likely in some of your hair follicles. It is not unusual, you will notice that you get small bumps all over your body at different times. Like acne, infections aren’t limited to only certain regions of your skin. Wash the region well and put a small amount of antibiotic ointment on the bumps. They should clear up in a few days.

If they continue for over a week or if it looks like they are spreading, then you need to make an appointment with your doctor as the antibiotic ointment isn’t killing off the germs causing the problem. The doctor will determine what is infecting your skin and then give you something that will kill it off.
