I was naked with a boy, but we didn’t have sex. Could I be pregnant?

Question:

Hi,

I am 20 years old. I am really scared I might be pregnant. Three days ago I romanced a boy to the point we had all our clothes off, but we didn’t have sex. I remembered that I am a virgin, and I wasn’t ready for sex. However, his semen was all over my pelvis. It was the fourth day of my menstruation period, but I noticed the next day I didn’t receive my periods. Was it that it was the last day of my period? Or did something change in my system? I am confused.

Please help.

Answer:

What you two were involved in is called “lewdness” in the Bible. Lewdness means acting like an animal. “Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts” (Romans 13:13-14). You and he had no business being naked and acting sexually.

You said you wanted to preserve your virginity and not get pregnant, but if that is your goal, you are going about it the wrong way. For example, if he decided to put his penis into you, there would have been almost nothing you could have done to prevent it.

Can a girl get pregnant from something like this? Yes. Is it likely that you are pregnant? No. You can only get pregnant two weeks before the start of your next period. If some of his sperm got into you, it can only survive up to six days. So, unless you happen to have an extremely short menstrual cycle this month, the odds are that you are not pregnant. Most likely you just had a short period this month.

But this doesn’t mean you won’t end up pregnant. Sperm can swim, so semen near the vaginal opening can lead to sperm entering you. Plus there is the problem that sin is progressive. He will push for repeated events of lewdness and eventually, he will talk you into letting him put his penis into you. At some point, the odds will be against you.

If you want to live as a Christian, then you don’t get involved in sin. If you don’t want to be pregnant, then you don’t get sexually involved with boys.

Response:

Thank you so much for the advice. I feel bad for what I did. Pray for me that the Lord will forgive me. I promise not get involved with a boy again and may the good Lord help me walk in the path of the righteous and protect me from temptations and evil. God bless you.
